REASON WHY I WENT VEGAN
REASON WHY I WENT VEGAN
In these moments, people talk about veganism a lot.
It is a word that starts to be very switched on.
I am going to explain you which were my reasons for going vegan.
With this, we will reflect on the eating habits and life in general.
What is being vegan and what I actually eat as a vegan?
Veganism is the absence of using or eating products and services of animal origin, either to feed, clothing, footwear, medicines, cosmetics, transport, experimentation, work aid or entertainment, except for the last one, in case of the domestic or pet animals.
Veganism is defined as a life style.
Those who practice vegaism are called vegans, just like the products and services suitable for vegans.
Is it bored to be vegan?
It is quite the opposite. Vegan diet can be unbelievably varied.
The only food vegans do not eat is any product of animal origin.
This is not only meat and fish, but neither its by-products, of course.
The rest of existing products, which are the majority, are eatable for us.
We are talking about vegetables, green vegetables, legume, cereals, seeds, seaweeds, non-diary milk-drinks (vegetable milks), such as soy milk, rice milk, oat milk, almond milk, coconut milk, etc.
When you meet someone vegan, you learn the wide range of culinary possibilities that exist and how poor our previous diet was.
No one gets bored of being vegan, like eating a vegan diet. However, vegan people do not only care about their diet, but all their consumption habits, such as using clothes, footwear, accessories or cosmetics that contain any animal material.
Moreover, vegans try to buy foodstuffs and products close to them in order to reduce the carbon footprint, and they are worried about the environment.
ARGUMENTS FOR BEING VEGAN.
THE NUTRITION OF TODAY IS TOO DIFFERENT FROM THE ONE 50 YEARS AGO
“I´ve always eaten meat and nothing happened.” How many times have we heard that?
It is true it was like that before, but it is not anymore.
Meat consumption was less frequent before than now.
In many places, even breeding was domestic.
It was about a sustainable system.
Now, it is more frequent and has a huge cost and impact to the environment.
The world has changed, as our habits, globalisation, schedules, dedication to work, and also our necessities. We should think beyond mere nutrition, by ethics of what we do and in the gastronomic enjoyment.
WE SHOULD THINK OF EATING IN A HEALTHIER WAY.
Many people think that no eating meat leads to nutritional deficiencies, such as low serum iron, and vitamine deficiency, etc.
They are wrong.
Veganism is not a synonym of weakness, it is quite the opposite. Nobody cares so much his or her health as a vegan, just because nobody knows how his or her body is and needs to ingest, and he or she does.
The influence of our type of nutrition in the climate change.
Have you wonder if is it good for the planet to eat so much meat? Is it sustainable the animal consumption?
Food industryis the main responsible for the climate change according to Jeffrey Sachs, Ban Ki-Moon´s consultant.
Studies say that if we keep up this pace, our planet will not last long as we have known it.
Therefore, we must introduce new ways for feeding ouselves.
If you worry about the planet sustainability and reach old age in a healthy body and planet, you should start thinking on going vegan.
Do you think on animal suffering?
Have you think that animals feel, suffer and develop traumas?
One day, I wonder why sacrificing animals for eating them.
It remains a dreadful idea for me.
AWARENESS AND RESPONSIBILITY
Being vegan involves becoming aware of what you eat.
That is to say, being aware of what you eat and ends becoming in you, and you in that.
If in your life it is important to live a healty life, be responsable with what is around you, such as the planet, people, animals, be aware of what you do in your life, your choice and decision is veganism.
